Manuel “Manny” Valencia Jr., 80 and a 57-year resident of Salinas, passed away Friday May 9, 2025. He was the proud owner and operator of Manny’s Style Shop, a pillar of the East Salinas Community for over 50 years. He enjoyed cheering on his beloved 49ers and Dodgers with his son and watching western movies with his wife. A firm believer in the fight for Civil Rights, he was an outspoken activist in his community, often attending City Council meetings to advocate for the less fortunate. Manny was known for his strong work ethic, belief in family and his cherished sense of humor.
Manny was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Carmen and Manuel Valencia Sr. and two Brothers, Alex Valencia and Herbert Valencia. Manny is survived by his loving Wife of 53-years, Nellie Valencia, Son, Manuel Valencia III, Step-daughters Tracy Turango and Audrey Mansfield of Salinas, Numerous Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. VISITATION: Thursday May 29, from 1:00 pm-5:00pm at Healey Mortuary. FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, May 30, 11:00 am at Healey Mortuary.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
