In Loving Memory
Shirley Elizabeth Chapman, 80, passed in peace on May 3rd surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 11, 1944 in Salinas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred M. Chapman. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl and Mike Fleming, her grandchildren. Amanda and Kyle Reinhart, Matt Chapman, Justin and Sarah Fleming, and Dannika Cremona; her great-grandchildren, Morgan Reinhart, Cooper and Lainey Fleming, Madison Cremona; nephew, Tracy and Etta Struby; nephew, Mark and Robin Struby, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Shirley was known to many as “Auntie”. She was born and raised in Salinas. Upon her marriage to Skip, she was able to travel to many places. Upon her return to Salinas she went to work at Santa Rita School District for over 30 years. Above all she loved to be with her family, traveling to Disneyland, many casino road trips, and bingo. Her favorite was being a grandma and great grandma to her babies. She also beloved her cat “Faith” who she has also joined in heaven.
A Celebration of life to be arranged at a later date.

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
