Ronnie Lewis Crawford

Mr. Ronnie Lewis Crawford, a long-time resident of Winterhaven, Florida, passed away on May 14, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Auburndale. Born on March 30, 1937, in Connersville, Indiana, Ronnie grew up and attended school in Connersville and had a wonderful career at Kroger as a produce manager. He was loved by his co-workers and was a meticulous and exemplary employee for decades until his retirement in 1989. In addition to his successful career, Ronnie had many passions. He was a dedicated volunteer for the Polk County Sheriff’s CAP program and the Polk County Humane Society. In addition to his extensive volunteer work, Ronnie enjoyed playing shuffleboard, fishing, hunting, bowling, and golf. He won many awards and trophies in all the sports in which he participated and was a true sportsman.Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (Sasser) Crawford and Paul Crawford, Jr.; daughter, Paula Galvez; sisters Diana Combes, Marilyn Davis, Delight “Kay” Bromley; infant brother, Tony; brothers-in-law, Pete Combes and Ron Bromley; as well as his infant granddaughter Rhonda Baldwin.Ronnie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Crawford; daughter, Shirley Pabon; grandson, Bryan Baldwin (Carrie); great grandchildren, Tyler Baldwin and Whitley Baldwin; brother, Paul (Pam) Crawford III; and brother-in-law, Sam Davis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and Lucy, his beloved cat.A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
