Mary (Ambrosino) Schweitzer, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on May 24, 1939, Mary spent her early years in the Bronx, NY before embarking on a life filled with love and dedication to her family. On October 12, 1958, Mary married Howard Schweitzer, and together they moved to Garnerville, where they lovingly raised their four sons. Throughout her career, Mary held various positions, including roles at the Bank of New York, the Rockland County Department of Social Services, and the Town of Haverstraw. After retiring, she continued to work at the P.J. Rotella Golf Course and later as a part-time receptionist for Gibraltar Management Co., Inc.
Mary was a passionate sports enthusiast, particularly devoted to the New York Yankees, Jets, and Giants. She proudly held season tickets for the Jets for many years. In her retirement, Mary found joy in solving puzzles, watching game shows, and crocheting blankets for her family. She took great pleasure in watching her grandchildren play sports and was their biggest supporter, celebrating all their achievements.
Mary is survived by her sons, Howard (Melissa), Richard (Diane), Robert (Jessica), and Thomas (Jessica). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Megan (Anthony), Christopher, Amanda, Madison, Alexander, Nicholas, Morgan, and Jackson, as well as her great-grandson, August. She was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Filomena Ambrosino, beloved husband, Howard, daughter, Diane and siblings Nicholas, Francis and Rose.
