Ella Maura Lott, 84, of Middleton, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her home.

Funeral services for Ella will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1749 Willis Road in Middleton, Idaho, on Friday, June 6, 2025, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. and services starting at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow.

Ella was born January 16, 1941, in Nampa, Idaho, to Orville and Fannie Mae Lott, the fifth of six children. She was raised and lived all of her life in Idaho.

Ella and Gary Gochenour married on March 30, 1957, at Nampa, Idaho. Four children blessed that union: Rodney (Eileen) Gochenour of Middleton; Connie Burns of Caldwell; Gray Jr. Gochenour (deceased); and Shauna Case of Middleton; followed by four grandsons and two granddaughters: Creed (Christy) Burns; Tyler (Elisha) Burns; Brandon (Ashlie) Case; Ashley Dewitt; Brooks Case; and Sherry Priest; then 14 great-grandchildren.

Although Gary and Ella divorced when their children were young, they both played an active part in their children's lives and spent many holidays together as a family.

Ella married Ron Moss in 1970, and had one son together, Ron Moss Jr. They later divorced but remained friends and shared the upbringing of their son.

Ella had many jobs throughout her life. She loved the kids at the Nampa State School for the years she worked there. Later, she owned and operated her own janitorial service. She also really enjoyed her time as a cashier at Albertsons and finally retired from Simplot.

Ella was a devoted mother and loved her children more than anything else in this world, and she made it known that she would protect and defend them to the end. Ella had a beautiful talent for decorating her home wherever she lived and it was always a place of beauty and comfort. She was a fabulous cook and could pull off a delicious meal at the spur of the moment that was always followed with a delicious dessert. My favorite was her homemade pies. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was so fun to be around. The last several years, she enjoyed watching movie after movie on cable television and visiting with family and friends. As her health became fragile the last several years, our family was so thankful for the love, care, and devotion that her daughter, Shauna, provided on a daily basis. Connie was also a blessing with house cleaning and meals.

Ella is also survived by her brother, Dwaine Lott, of Beaverton, Oregon; and her sister, Mary Lou Hay of Portland, Oregon; and a friend that she considered a sister, Pearl Smith.

Family preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Shirley and LaVina Mae; a brother, Joe Lott; and recently her son, Gary Lee Jr. Gochenour.

Her family was her greatest joy and she will be immensely missed by all of us.
