In Loving Memory

Mrs. Brenda Kay Herbert, 77, of Kernersville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 15, 2025 at Kernersville Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  Born in Forsyth County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Moore) Warner and wife to James Herbert.

Brenda was a fun-loving, former flower child that wrote children's books under the pen-name "Weezer". She would often bring a smile to others faces or encourage a goofier side in those around her. She was a giver.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, James Herbert; her dog, Scooter; her child, Jimmy Echols Jr. (Nancy); her stepchildren, Jim Herbert (Tosha); her grandchildren, Jimmy Lefever, Angel Echols, Sierra Stelzer, Sophia Echols, and Isaac Herbert; her sisters, Patricia Gunter and Linda Holder; her sister-in-law, Lynda Stanbery; her brother-in-law, Robbie Herbert; her nephews, Danny Glover and JJ Gunter; her grandnephews, Chad Glover, Gage Glover and Jake Gunter; her grandniece, Madi Shannon; and her many other loving family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Wagner; her brothers, Charles Warner Jr. and Jerry Warner.

The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 W. Mountain St., Kernersville NC 27284 on Sunday, May 18th, 2025 from 2:00PM  -  3:00PM.  A memorial service celebrating Brenda's life will follow beginning at 3:00PM with Rev. Pete Kunkle officiating.
