It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ralph H. Fredette, who left us peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 74, at his home in Three Rivers, MA, surrounded by his family. Born on February 12, 1951 in Gardner, MA, he was the son of Joseph A. and Yvette C. (L'Hullier) Fredette.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Kathleen (Currie) Fredette, and their cherished children: Kate Cole and her husband Stephen of Ellington, CT, Stephen Fredette and his wife Tasha of Palmer, MA, and Sarah Troche of Three Rivers, MA. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Ian, Lexi, Shawnie, Stevie, Kylie, Henry, and Louis, who lovingly referred to him as "Pop." Ralph is also survived by his sister, Maryanne Sharron of Washington, NC, and his brother, Francis Fredette of Mebane, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Yvette (L'Hullier) Fredette.
Ralph's educational journey began in Gardner, MA, where he graduated from Gardner High School. He furthered his education by obtaining an associate degree from Mount Wachusett Community College and subsequently attended Northeastern University. Ralph honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1974 to 1980, embodying the qualities of service and dedication throughout his life.
Professionally, Ralph worked at Rathbone Precision Metals in Palmer, MA before dedicating more than 20 years to Nova Chemicals in Indian Orchard, MA, where he ultimately retired.
An avid outdoorsman, Ralph found immense joy in fishing, camping, and skiing during his younger years. He was known for his inquisitive mind and love of reading, often enjoying the latest reports from the Weather Channel and staying informed on current events. Most importantly, Ralph cherished the moments spent with his family, particularly those special times shared with his grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass in Ralph's honor will take place at St. Thomas Church in Palmer, MA, on Saturday, May 31. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Baystate Hospice or the Three Rivers Fire Department.
