Michael Paul Sausaman of Ocala, FL passed away surrounded by his family on May 17, 2025. He was born in Peru, IN to Roy and Florence Sausaman on October 22, 1951. He married Catherine Wolk Sausaman on September 16, 1979, in Clearwater, FL. He worked in sales for most of his career. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army in aircraft maintenance and as a helicopter door gunner where he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces along with other medals. He was involved at Meadowbrook Church as a valued member of the Security Team and enjoyed water sports and scuba diving during his lifetime.

Michael is preceded in death by is father and mother, Roy Lester and Florence Evelyn and his sister and brother-in-law, Connie and John Tomlinson. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine Sausaman, son, Daniel, daughter-in-law, Zoraida, granddaughters, Abbie and Ariel, sister, Nancy Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Hiers Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th Street in Ocala, with viewing from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and service immediately following at 7:00 PM. Burial, with military honors, will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Wednesday. May 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers (t2t.org). Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com. The family of Michael Sausaman wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for Michael in the ICU at HCA West Marion Hospital in Ocala.
