Obit for John Jarrold Carr Jr.:
John Jarrold Carr Jr., resident of Arvada, born February 11, 1965 passed away May 11, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Carr, son Ryan Carr (daughter- In- law Jessica) and grandchildren Greyson and Serenity Carr as well as stepson Nick Jechura and stepdaughter Jayla Jechura as well as his father John Jarrold Carr Sr. and sister Michelle L. Releford and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma L. Sheridan and two stepsons – Rusty and Johnny Baker.
John was a Safety Trained Supervisor in Construction. His last four years of work were as a senior project manager at Iron Woman Construction. His career included 30+ years in environmental remediation including hazardous materials abatement, wastewater handling, chemical warfare demolition operations, radiological dismantlement, and demolition operations and other industrial contamination issues.
Mr. Carr’s management expertise included supervisory roles in multi-million-dollar projects totaling more than one billion dollars throughout his career.
He worked for private sector companies, international insurance agencies and the United States Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency. He was also a program manager for projects in the City and County of Denver, Adams County, Excel Energy and other cities in Colorado.
He was operation manager of the 903 pad at Rocky Flats, Broomfield, Colorado. This was a 10- acre site regarded as the most plutonium contaminated location in the United States.
Mr. Carr was a regional manager for projects overseen by the United States Department of State and Department of Defense in Baghdad, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His role was to construct regional fire stations in the Green Zone in Baghdad and throughout the country as well as to construct border Forward Operating Bases.
John, a lifetime fisherman and lover of golf, family and friends will be sorely missed.
