Raymond "Ray" Joseph Morin
July 26th, 1946 - April 19th, 2025
Raymond Joseph Morin passed away at his home in Tustin, CA early Friday morning, April 19, 2025 at the age of 78. Ray was born on July 26, 1946 in Laconia, NH to Adelard Morin and Lillian (Patten) Morin. He was one of nine children and spent his childhood in the Lakes region of NH. According to Ray he was“rough and tough” in his early years, but he was truly a kind hearted soul. He moved to Massachusetts where he met the love of his life, Robert “Bob” Nason. Together they moved to Southern California where Ray pursued his love for painting and had various gallery showings in Orange County, CA.
On June 26, 2008 Bob and Ray married in San Marcos, CA in a private family ceremony. Ray enjoyed spending time with Bob and their dog Moby in retirement. They enjoyed every minute whether they were at the beach, cooking, painting or camping, either in the mountains or near the ocean. He and Bob loved an adventure and everything was an adventure to them. He was loved by everyone that met him. Ray’s love of friends, nature and the arts never faded.
In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his husband Robert I. Nason; brothers Roger Morin, Albert Morin, Arman Morin, Alfred Morin, and Robert Morin; sisters Sally Kuchinsky, Irene McAvley and Pauline Gallant.
Ray is survived by his son, Steve Azotea; his granddaughters Alanna Jeffers and her husband Kaleb from Northfield, NH and Rachel Azotea of Laconia, NH; his sister-in-law and her husband Kathilyn and Robert Teague; nephews Bryce Teague and Brody Teague of Solsberry, IN; and close friends Linda and Fred Simpson.
A private celebration of Ray's life will be held in California.
