With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Lawrence “Larry” Yaklich on May 12, 2025. A proud Marine and Colorado native, Larry was a father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He lived a life of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for those he regarded as family.

Larry was the proud father of three daughters, Brandy Benton, Katy Brannon, and Ashley Medina, who carry on his legacy of love and resilience. He was a grandfather to nine grandchildren. As a brother, he shared a lifetime of memories and deep bonds with Colleen Yaklich, Cathleen Hager, Beverly Yaklich, Janice Luckey, Lisa Lahrs, Leslee Superchi, and Shelly Lane.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Norma and Robert “Bob”, and his beloved wife, Geri, whom he cherished deeply.

Larry's impact extended far beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of countless relatives and friends who will deeply miss him. The love and connections he fostered were too vast to fully capture in words, but all who knew him will carry his spirit in their hearts.

Larry will be remembered for his quick wit and infectious humor, bringing laughter to every room he entered. As a proud Marine, Larry carried the values of honor, dedication, and perseverance throughout his life. His respect and support for fellow service members remained a defining part of who he was. He had a deep passion for photography, capturing the beauty of the world through his lens. His love for the outdoors was undeniable- whether exploring the mountains, enjoying a peaceful sunrise, or simply appreciating nature’s wonders. But above all, Larry had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel like family, welcoming others with open arms and a warm heart.

His spirit lives on in those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his impact will forever be felt by the family and friends who held him close.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.

Larry’s presence was a gift, his laughter a joy, and his love a blessing. May he rest in peace, knowing he was profoundly loved.

In honor of Larry’s love for nature and exploration, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the National Park Foundation. This tribute ensures his passion for the great outdoors continues to inspire and support the preservation of the places he cherished. National Park Foundation
