George Louis Schrade, Jr.
February 22nd, 1936 - April 12th, 2025
George Louis Schrade, Jr., was born on February 22, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, to George Louis Schrade, Sr., and Gertrude Schrade. George is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Renter (husband Scott) and Marilyn Brueckner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Treva Marie Schrade.
George was a proud Colorado native. He lived life to the fullest with an adventurous soul. He loved to try new things, visit new places, make new friends, and eat unique and spicy food.
In 1967, George met his wife of 52 years, Treva, while square dancing with friends. Six months later they were married. They loved to dance, go on Caribbean cruises, and travel in their motorhome all across the nation. They loved to spend time in and around water, either fishing or waterskiing with George’s boat or experiencing adventures such as SCUBA diving.
George had many jobs in his lifetime. Around the age of 10, he worked as a pyrotechnician making firework displays for Lakeside on the fourth of July and working as a cabin boy at Monarch Lake. George was a draftsman for the Denver Research Institute, Gates Rubber Company, Coors, and Hathaway Instruments. He also worked at Rocky Flats, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, on lighting for the Eisenhower tunnel, and on projects for the pipeline in the upper part of Alaska. He wrapped up his career working for Martin Marietta on electrical systems for the MX missiles, shuttle rockets, the man maneuvering unit, and other projects, retiring at age 55.
George was always there for his family; he was a wonderful son, son-in-law, husband, brother-in-law, father, father-in-law, and friend. George passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025. He will be missed by all who knew him and he will live in our hearts and memories forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2025, 2:00 PM at the Mountair Christian Church - 1390 Benton Street, Lakewood, CO 80214
