Duane A. Brown (Charlie), 89, of Gig Harbor, Washington, died peacefully on May 12, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1935 in Binghamton, New York. After high school, Duane enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served for twenty three years. Once he retired from the Air Force, his goal was to complete his college education. First, by earning two associate degrees from Ft. Steilacoom Community College, then a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure Activities from Central Washington University and last, a Masters of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Duane loved teaching and coaching which he did for the next twenty years.
Church played an important role in his life. Duane was a faithful follower of Christ and served in every church he attended. He had a servant’s heart and genuine love for people.
Duane and his wife, Janice, were married for sixty seven years. They have two children, a daughter, LuAnn and a son, Frank. He was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His presence will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
