Born December 18, 1952 in Frankfort, Kentucky, Alvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy from November 1971 to November 1975 during the Vietnam War. Over the years, he shared his message of hope and redemption through his work with Leestown Gospel Church and The House of New Beginnings. His ministry touched many lives and offered comfort to those in need.

Family was at the heart of Alvin’s world. He also leaves behind his brother Jeff Micheal Cummins (Teresa) and sister Nancy Cummins as well as his fiancé, Rita Hardin, who stood by him with love and support and was his caregiver from 2021 to present.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his additional caregivers, Cindy Hamilton and Pam Spaulding.
