Robert "Bob" Peter Koob Jr. August 16, 1954 – May 15, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Peter Koob Jr., a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on August 16, 1954, in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Bob was raised in the Midwest before moving to Arizona as a teenager. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Alice, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience. Their journey took them to various small towns across Arizona, but it was in Tucson that they planted roots and raised their family.
Bob was a Master Electrician by trade, dedicating many years of hard work to Arizona’s copper mines.
He was the kind of man who could fix anything—and often did. At home, he took immense pride in the care of his house, his yard, and every vehicle that came into his driveway. He had a knack for music, often strumming his guitar or playing the harmonica. Bob was a man of quiet strength and steadfast loyalty. He grounded his life in faith, family, and hard work.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice, and together they set a standard of love and partnership that lives on in their family. He is survived by his children: Jennifer (Jarett) L’abbe, Jason (Amy) Koob, and Jeffrey (Maddy) Koob; his cherished grandchildren: Kylie, Joshua, Olivia, August, and Liam; and his sisters Hollie (Charlie) Cox and Heather (Hank) George. He is also remembered with love by the large and close-knit extended family on Alice’s side—the Nelsons—who embraced Bob as one of their own.
Bob will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his deep devotion to his family, and the way he adapted to the often playful chaos brought on by his wife and her extended family. Over time, he even showed his own sharp wit, learning to meet their jokes with one of his own.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025:
• Viewing: 8:00 – 9:45 AM at Adair Funeral Home, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Tucson, Az. 85704
• Rosary: 10:30 AM at St. Odelia's Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte Tucson, Az. 85704
• Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM at St. Odelia’s Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte Tucson, Az. 85704
• Burial: Following the service at Holy Hope Catholic Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd. Tucson, Az. 85705
• Reception: Following the burial a luncheon will be held at St. Odelia's Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte Tucson, Az. 85704
In honor of their father, the family simply asks that you remember Bob by fixing something in need of repair, strumming a tune, or cherishing a moment with loved ones—as he so often did.
