Ronald L. Ford, age 89, of New Plymouth, Idaho passed away at Wellsprings Assisted Living Facility on Thursday May 15, 2025.

 

Ron was born November 12, 1935 at Carthage, Missouri. He was raised and attended schools in both Kansas City, Missouri and Carthage, Missouri.

 

Ron married Wanda Newman in Orland, California June 8, 1955.

 

Ron moved his family from Redding, California to New Plymouth, Idaho in 1972. Upon moving to Idaho Ron started his career with Stunz Lumber Company in New Plymouth. Ron was Manager in New Plymouth before transferring to Stunz Lumber in Ontario where he became General Manager until his retirement in 1997. After retirement Ron worked part time at Emporium in Ontario.

 

Ron and Wanda have one son, Ronald Stacy Ford, two grandchildren Tyler Ford and Sarah Ford Newsom, and several great grandchildren.

 

Ron enjoyed spending his time surrounded by his family and friends. His favorite summers were spent camping and fishing in Donnelly with Keith and Judy Taylor, Stacy and Jennifer, and his grandkids. If you ever went to Ron’s house, a western was on on the tv. Almost always his hero, John Wayne, the Duke.

 

Preceded in death by his wife Wanda Ford, parents Emmett and Helen Ford, Sister Jolene McKinzie, Brother Ruy “Skip” Ford, brother-in-laws Don Newman, Joe Newman, Merin Newman, Leonard Newman, sister-in-laws Bonnie Newman, Sharon Newman, mother and father-in-law Parker and Minnie Newman.

 

Survived by his Son Stacy Ford(Jennifer), grandchildren Tyler Ford(Katie) and Sarah Newsom, sister-in-laws Sandra Newman, Geri Newman, and Susie Newman, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Keith and Judy Taylor, Kerry, Jolene, Mark, and Joel Shipley.

 

Services for Ron will be held at 3 pm, Tuesday, May 27th at the First Baptist Church in New Plymouth with Pastor Phil Pittman officiating.

 

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in New Plymouth or New Plymouth Senior Center. Condolences may be made to Ron’s family at www.shafferjensen.com
