Larry Vinkle

On the evening of May 14th, 2025-

A strong, loyal and loving man passed 

From our presence to rest in his creator

Jehovah’s memory.

Larry was born October 24th, 1946 in

Petoskey, Michigan. He grew up in 

Battle Creek, Michigan. He graduated 

From Harper Creek High School in 1964.

He also attended North Central Michigan

College where he earned an Associate Degree 

In construction technology.

In 1965 Larry met the love of his life Lydia Strole.

They got married. They were married over

58 years.

From 1966-1972 Larry served in the 

US Navy/Marine Corps as a corpman.

Larry and Lydia were stationed in Japan 

For 2 years.

Larry was a licensed builder.

He completed projects all over Michigan.

He also built 3 different homes for his family.

Larry worked for Grand Trunk Railroad in

Battle Creek MI

Oregon Inlet NC park service in Nagshead, NC

 He retired fromFarmers Home Administration/ Rural Development in

Gladstone, Michigan after 26 years.

He was a construction inspector and

Loan specialist.

Larry was a loving father of two daughters

Lara and Wendi. 

Larry enjoyed traveling. He was an avid 

Golfer and fisherman. He loved collecting and playing all kinds of musical instruments 

especially the guitar.

He is survived by his wife Lydia,

Daughter Lara and son in law Craig Michaux.

5 grandchildren-Lauren, Danielle, Cody and

Dillon(Kyle), and Bailey(RJ). 

Also 8 great grandchildren.

And one brother John Vinkle.

He was preceded in death by his daughter 

Wendi, His parents John and Georgia Vinkle.

Three sisters Gloria, Diane and Mary and one

Brother Everett.

Farley Funeral Home is in charge of 

Arrangements. Memorial Services along 

With internment will be held at a future date.

Interment will be at Venice Memorial Gardens.
