Charlotte Bucher

Charlotte Bucher (nee Schaefer), aged 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

LEGACY

Charlotte was born on June 7, 1928, to the late John and Charlotte Bucher in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  While raising six children, Charlotte also dedicated her time to St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church helping educate the younger generation on the love of Christ and the ways of the Lord through the CCD program.  Charlotte’s devotion to the church will not be forgotten.

As her children grew older,  Charlotte then began to work for Gloucester Catholic High School as a typing teacher where she subsequently retired. After that, she worked as an Office manager for Peak Respiratory and Sleep, Inc. for another ten years, finally retiring for good at the age of 80.

Charlotte and Ernie were lucky to have spent many summers together in Ocean City, NJ where they owned a home. They also enjoyed many winters with friends in Siesta Key, FL. Charlotte and Ernie enjoyed traveling  and took many trips together. After the death of her husband, Charlotte continued to travel with her longtime friend, Ruth.

Charlotte was an avid reader and a loyal Phillies and Eagles fan. She spent many hours playing cards with friends and family. In her final years, she came to love her iPad for reading, playing games, keeping up on the news, and communicating with us on email and the BIG app!

Charlotte was a strong, witty, intelligent and, at times, stubborn woman who lived a full life for another 26 years after losing her husband. She will be missed.

FAMILY         

Loving wife to the late Ernest Bucher and devoted mother to Mildred Perry (Jeff), Linda Bucher, Janet Gonzalez (the late Diego), Joanne Pearson (Brian), Barbara Yoworsky (Steve), and the late Richard Bucher (Helen).

Cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 14.5 great grandchildren.

FAREWELL CEREMONY:

We invite family only to attend Charlotte’s viewing on Saturday May 31, 2025 from 9:15 am to 10:30 am at McGuinness Funeral Homes located on 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ 08096.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Angels Parish/St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 am located on 64 Cooper St., Woodbury, NJ 08096.

Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery directly following mass located on 260 W. Whitehorse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or Samaritan Hospice.
