Randell Owen Sloan, 64, of Gate City, VA was born on May 20, 1960, went to his eternal home on Monday, May 19, 2025, at his residence just one day short of his 65th birthday.
He was the beloved son of Richard Howard and Evelyn (Pierson) Sloan.
Randell attended Vicars Chapel until his auto accident left him paralyzed. He helped establish the food pantry at Freedom Fellowship Church. When you remember Randell, think of him, the way he lived his life and of the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Randell’s journey on earth was marked by his generosity, compassion, and most of all his unwavering faith in God.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2023.
Randell is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Vickie (Lawson) Sloan; mother, Evelyn Sloan; daughters, Sarah, Megan, and Christina; stepdaughters, Ashley and Kirstin; brother, Richard (Patsy) Sloan; special friend, Phil Eden; caregivers, Valdenia and Knobie; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; along with several aunts and uncles.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a food pantry of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday, May 23 at Vicar’s Chapel, 12421 Stanley Valley Road, Gate City, VA. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating, comfort words will be provided by Elder John Bradley. Music will be provided by Mark Jackson and Vicars Chapel Trio.
