A Devoted Mother and Caring Friend

With deep sorrow and much love, we announce the passing of Marilyn Magill- a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She departed this world on May 5th, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born in Long Beach, California, and raised in Springfield, Oregon, Marilyn was a dedicated, hardworking woman whose strength and determination shaped everything she did. In her youth, she had a passion for track and field and was a talented single ski water skier, embracing the thrill of the sport with the same energy she brought to every part of her life.

Marilyn explored several careers throughout her life, always giving her all. Early on, she was a gifted and sought-after travel agent, helping others discover the world with her signature enthusiasm and attention to detail. Later, she found her true calling in hospice care. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she offered compassion, dignity, and peace to those in their final days; she had a deep and lasting impact on the lives she touched.

Marilyn’s life was filled with music, laughter, and movement. She dug the hits of the 60s and 70s and could often be found joyfully dancing and singing to her favorite songs. Her boundless energy and love of life were contagious. Her optimism was unwavering, her friendships many and meaningful, and her ability to lift others up was a rare and beautiful gift.

She was predeceased by her parents, Vern and Tilli Magill, and her brother Robert Magill, whom she deeply loved and whose tragic passing left a lasting mark on her heart. She is survived by her loving children: Jake Wilson, Jordan Magill, and Marlie Magill; her grandson Dylan Wilson; her brother Dave Magill; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was also fortunate to have a wide circle of close friends who were like family.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 2 p.m. at Faith Avenue Church in Eugene, Oregon. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor the memory of a woman who gave so much of herself to others.

Though she has left this world, Marilyn’s light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched. Her legacy of compassion, joy, and strength lives on in the hearts of those privileged enough to know her.
