Cathy McMillan Hester, 59, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025. Born May 28, 1965 in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Lee McMillan Sr. and Jennie Carrie Mitchem McMillan. She attended the University of North Carolina Greensboro and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She then worked as a registered oncology nurse in Charlotte, NC for 38 years. She married Scott Hester on Sept 4, 1994.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband Scott McDowell Hester of 30 years, sisters Carol Davis, Connie Foster, Nan Kaylor all of Mt. Holly NC and brothers Ron McMillan of Wilmington NC, Bobby McMillan of Statesville NC and many more loving family and friends.
She loved reading a good book and enjoyed keeping a journal of all her travels, including camping and rambling with family and friends. She was an avid photographer and loved taking pictures of different birds, bugs and family events throughout the years. She also enjoyed solving puzzles and doing jigsaw puzzles.
