Marquise Corey Sims
May 9th, 2003 - May 7th, 2025
Marquise Corey Sims was born May 9th, 2003, in Minneapolis MN at North Memorial Medical Center to his loving parents Kyisha Lashawn Stevenson-Gains and Stuart Corey Sims. He lived in MN until he was 4 years old then moved to Las Vegas for a few Years, had time in Mississippi before returning to Minnesota in 2010 and residing in the suburbs of Dodge Center, an outskirt of Rochester .
Marquise was surrounded by family and friends that adored and loved him. The first child and only son of both of his parents, is the older brother of 3 sisters on his father’s side and the only child of his mother. He was the only grandchild to his maternal grandmother, and he was the first child born on his mother’s side of immediate family members and siblings and their first child in many ways. Marquise is and was the first and only in a lot of people’s lives and the loss of him is felt very deeply to all of us.
Marquise attended Kasson Mantorville High school and graduated in 2021. He loved to play basketball and football, and his favorite color was red of course. Marquise loved hi s family, and the ladies, enjoyed hanging out with his friends, and pizza wash is favorite food. Marquise had a great personality; he was very intelligent, considerate of others and caring, very creative, he was very fun and funny, he was thee jokester and a risk taker. This amazing personality led him to have amazing friends that love and cherish him and considered him their family rather than a friend.
Marquise’s last days were of him reaching out to his family, letting his father know they have a job on their hands with his younger sister going to prom. Reaching out to his aunt sand cousins and checking on his friends. As this is hurtful to write, say, see, and hear, Marquise is now able to watch over us as all of our Angel. God made the final decision, and he wanted Marquise.

Spielman Mortuary
Spielman Mortuary has been helping Saint Paul families since 1950 when Kenneth and Helen Spielman purchased the National Funeral Home. For over 30 years, the couple lived above the funeral home and took just one vacation. They sold the home in 1984 to the Willwerscheid family. We still operate Spielman Mortuary with the same traditions of pride, sensitivity, value, and attention to detail that the Spielmans followed for over three decades....
