Larry Alan Barber J U L Y 3 1 , 1 9 4 9 – J U L Y 2 3 , 2 0 2 1 Larry Alan Barber of Greeley passed away Friday, July 23, 2021. He was born July 31, 1949, in Greeley, Colorado to George (Bud) Everett Barber and (Eva) Jean Barber (Winslow). Larry grew up in Greeley and graduated from Platte Valley High School. He was active in football, basketball, and band. He then went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Education from UNC. After graduation he worked at Harsh Hydraulics, Thompsons Home Improvement, Winterset Inn and finally went on to recertify his teaching degree in1989. He was a teacher and coach at Highland High School until he retired in 2009. He enjoyed woodworking, playing pool, and being outdoors in his garden. Larry was an artist and enjoyed making furniture, bowls, kaleidoscopes, and anything else that he put his mind to. Larry enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos & Colorado Rockies. He also loved to read science fiction and horror novels. Above all else was his love for his family, friends, and students. Larry formed close relationships with everyone whose life he touched. Larry is survived by his son, Todd Barber (Elena) of Greeley; daughter, Carla Pearson (Don) of Thornton; sister, Sharon Shea of Greeley; brothers, Mark Barber of Ault and Gregg Barber of Arizona. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, Ty Barber (father of Jericho and Juniper Barber); Kayla Barber; Alexis Pearson; Ashley Pearson; and Amber Pearson. Celebration of life will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Northern Colorado Crematory.
