Margaret Michele Jones

Margaret Michele Jones, 73, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on July 29, 2021 in Greeley. Michele was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to R Gray & Martha (Wilson) Robbins on September 12, 1947. On February 26, 1989, Michele married Fred Jones in Reno, Nevada. Michele grew up in Mill Valley, California and Colorado Springs where she graduated from Wasson High School. She attended CU Boulder and moved to Greeley in 1974. She and her first husband, Ed Fickes, owned and ran the original Plantation restaurant in Evans from 1978 to 1986. Michele was involved in numerous community groups and served as a board member and later Executive Director of the Evans Area Chamber of Commerce, an organization she helped start in 1984. She loved to cook, garden, read and travel. Michele and Fred made annual trips to Taos and Santa Fe. Michele is survived by her husband; son, Ted (Natalie) Fickes; grandchildren, Ben & Louisa Fickes; brother, Mark (Kathy) Robbins; and a loving network of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Matt Fickes. A Celebration of Life will be planned in September, 2021. Details about time and place will be forthcoming.
