Reva Rupe King died peacefully May 21, 2025, with her daughter Terry Chandler and friend and “2nd daughter” Barbara Novak by her side when she left us to join the love of her life Lloyd Wesley (Wes) King.
Born in Sophia, West Virginia to John Bruce Rupe and Rosa Venetha Rupe, she left home after high school to live with her aunt (Ruby) in Virginia where she started her career with Bell. She dreamed of moving to Florida when she was young and moved there to continue her career with Southern Bell then Bellsouth until retirement. Reva was a vibrant soul who quite literally lived life to the fullest until the Lord called her home. She enjoyed her friends, getting her hair done, eating out, and the art of sharing a story or joke to make you laugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wes King, her parents, brothers Charles, Marvin, Robert, Leland and sister Mary (Maggie).
Those left to cherish her, and Wes’s memory are their only child, Terry Chandler and husband Paul, brothers Jack (Nancy) and Larry Rupe along with numerous nieces and nephews from West Virginia to Texas and Missouri to Georgia, as well as her lifelong friend best friend Diane Hollinghead, husband Dave Hollingshead and their family.
Both Reva and Wes requested no services asking for “No tears of sadness – Only tears of happy memories and our life”.
The family wishes to thank Merderi Caretenders, especially Lisa, Wayne, Lauren, and Cindy for their in-home health care and the hope they gave Reva to be well again. She most definitely made progress with your every visit. We also wish to thank the entire staff at Holmes Regional cardiac wing, especially nurses Diana and Mary, as well as Hospice of Health First for their support and loving care to provide Reva with the dignity and comfort she deserved in the hours before her passing.
In lieu of flowers, Reva had a great love for our veterans and service members. While she named Wounded Warrior Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org) and the USO (give.uso.org), she would appreciate any donation to the charity or person/people of your choice who have served our country.
