Advent Funeral & Cremation Services - Falls Church
Dante Notaro
July 23rd, 1939 - May 20th, 2025
Longtime Resident of Pimmit Hills, Falls Church, VA, Dante Notaro, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025. He was surrounded by love in his final days.
Born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy, Dante was predeceased by his beloved parents, Dominico Notaro and Angela Magnolfi, his twin siblings Michele (Mike) and Rosa, and his brother Giuseppe.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette Frontera Notaro, his devoted son Michael Notaro, daughter-in-law Christina Kefalas, and his three cherished grandchildren: Siena, Dante, and Kleopatra. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings Maria Tallarico, Luigi, and Franco, all of Savelli, Italy, as well as his loyal dog and companion, Gigi.
Dante served proudly in the Italian military as a young man before immigrating to Canada in the 1970s. His journey later brought him to Pittsburgh and eventually to Northern Virginia, where he became a respected iron worker and electrician. He worked on numerous iconic structures in Washington, D.C. He spent many years contributing to the intricate metalwork at the Holocaust Museum—a project he took immense pride in.
Dante was a man of many passions. He was an expert craftsman who could fix nearly anything, an avid gardener, and a gifted cook who kept the flavors of Italy alive in every dish. He found peace in fishing, joy in the outdoors, fun in scratch-off tickets and trips to the casino. He often said, with conviction and a smile, that “Italy invented everything good in the world.”
His legacy is one of resilience, craftsmanship, love for family, and a life richly lived. He will be remembered not only for the work of his hands but also for the strength of his heart and the stories he shared.
A service will be held with family & friends on Saturday, May 24th @ 4pm - a Mass said @ 4:30pm at Advent Funeral Home located at 7211 Lee Hwy - Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairfax Animal Shelter in his honor.
