Francis William Joy

Frank Joy went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2025. He was born on April 6th 1949, to Phillip and Cora Joy. He was the oldest of four brothers, Jonny, Pat and Jeff Joy. Frank spent his early life growing up in a military family, where he traveled and was stationed at many places such as; Japan, Germany and Hawaii before settling back to Vallejo CA. He graduated from Vallejo Sr. High School and then joined the US Airforce in 1968.   

In 1972 he met the love of his life, Rosemary Palacio, they were married within 6 months and started a family. They lived in Vallejo CA for 30 years and attended Church on the Hill where he was a deacon.  In 1997 Frank became a certified railroad mechanic with Amtrak and moved the family to Lake Tapps Washington, where he retired in 2004. He remained in Lake Tapps Washington until his passing.   

He was known for his friendly, helpful and easy-going nature. He had a deep love for God and his family.   

Frank is survived by his wife of 52 years Rosemary Joy, children Angela (Larry) Wright, Sara Joy, Anthony Joy.  Grandchildren Alie (Joe) Doolittle, Joey (Zaine) Castaneda, Hannah Joy, Izaiah Joy and Aliyah Wright.  As well as five great grandchildren Liam, Sequoia, Nathan, Cruz & baby boy Doolittle on the way.    

Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 30th at Sumner Family Church, 1400 Silver St., Sumner WA 98390
