Belchertown- William Y. Fisher, 84, of Belchertown died May 23, 2025. William came to this country at the age twelve from Stevenston, Scotland. The Family settled in Greenwich, CT where he attended Greenwich High School. He turned down a full scholarship to UConn to serve in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was stationed overseas in Greenland, Iceland, and serving out his career stationed at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee. It was there that he met his wife, Carol E. Page. Together they had 3 children.  William worked as a print press operator for the Wall Street Journal in Chicopee, MA and for the United States Post Office in Springfield, MA.  He had a love for golf and socializing with his friends at the Belchertown Senior Center. You may have seen him taking his daily walks in his bright yellow and orange vest along route 181 in Belchertown.  He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Carol E. Fisher of Belchertown; children, Lori Fisher of Belchertown, Alan Fisher and his wife Barbara of Belchertown, and Carolyn Fisher of Chicopee; two sisters, Ann Noyes of Naples, FL, and Linda Serdy of NY; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Page of Chicopee. He also leaves two grandsons, William D. Fisher and Nicholas Fisher both of Belchertown, and his granddaughter, Jessica Larabee of Texas.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 4:00-6:45pm with closing catholic prayers to begin at 6:45pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at a later date. For those wishing, donations in William’s memory can be made to the Belchertown Senior Center.
