Bonnie Lou Gearhiser Feige

Bonnie Lou Gearhiser Feige, 94, widow of Bernie Feige, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born in Louisville on January 8, 1931 to the late George Richard and Katie Lois Pemberton Gearhiser. Bonnie was a graduate of the University of Louisville, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Cytology with a minor in Psychology. Her career as a Lab Technician was marked by dedication and distinction, including her work in groundbreaking cancer research under the renowned Greek physician Dr. Georgios Papanikolaou, the inventor of the Pap smear. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a devoted mother who lovingly raised four daughters. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith as a faithful Jehovah’s Witness. She was known for her unwavering devotion and her warm, consistent efforts to share her beliefs with others.
Bonnie is survived by her four daughters, Kathy Elder (John), Jan Hooker (Tony), Katie Johnson (The late Scott Johnson), and Mary Cook; her 8 Grandchildren, Bryan (Makenzie) & Sheldon Cook, Brandy and Cameron (Jordyn) Hooker, Scott and Madeline (Leo) Johnson, Samuel and Timothy Elder, and 2 Great Grandchildren Gaia Cook & Evangeline Johnson.
She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, including her niece, Katie Lokits, with who she shared a warm bond, as well as dear friends who brought joy and companionship to her life.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness in Frankfort. Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd is in charge of arrangements.
