Robert Eugene Meyer
August 24th, 1945 - May 15th, 2025
In Loving Memory of Robert Eugene Meyer August 24, 1945 – Charleston, South Carolina It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Robert (Bobby) Eugene Meyer. A quiet and humble man, Bobby was unwavering in his Catholic faith and deeply devoted to those he loved. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict—a chapter of his life marked by duty and honor. Bobby graduated from Murray Vocational High School and later earned an associate degree in engineering from Trident Technical College. He cherished the simple things—well-worn books, a good historical documentary, and treasured family recipes passed down through generations. He never missed a soccer match, a softball game, or a dance recital. He was always there, cheering from the sidelines with quiet pride. His steady presence will be deeply missed, especially by his grandchildren, for whom he was a loving and devoted grandfather. Bobby is survived by his children, Robert E. Meyer II and his wife, Jennifer; Michael Meyer and his wife, Rebecca; Kathryn Meyer Webb and her husband, Timothy; his sister, Doris Droze; and his grandchildren, Marisa, Benjamin, Katelyn, and Kelsey. Though we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, welcomed into the joy of heaven. We know we will see him again one day, and until then, he will remain close in spirit. We are certain he is watching over us all—the best guardian angel we could ask for. Burial services, directed by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, will be private, with interment at Beaufort National Cemetery.
