Gayle M Stockwell

Gayle M. Stockwell, 71 of Evans, Colorado died Saturday May 24, 2025, at her home. She was born on July 10, 1953, to Roy W and Marianna (Ann) Miller in Greeley, Colorado. She graduated from Platte Valley High School and Northeastern JR college in Sterling, Colorado.

On July 27, 1973, she married Leo Carlson and to whom a daughter Dawn Mullen was born June 1974.

Gayle worked as a dietician at Banner Health for 21 years.

On May 15, 1992, she married Thomas Stockwell and helped to raise his son Travis Stockwell.

With both husbands being in the military she became a very strong advocate for Veterans. She was a Life Member of Evans VFW 6624. In 39 years of being a member she held many positions, chairmanships, and cooked many meals. 2012 Top Chef Award, 2014 All star President, 2015 helping hand award, 2016 outstanding District 3 President, 2019 distinguish hand award, 2020 Americanism Award, and her highest award 2021 Salute to Service for her long-dedicated life of volunteer to Service to Veterans.

She liked to play cards, watch NAS car racing, going to mountains, and spending time at her grandchildren’s events.

Survivors are her daughter, Dawn Mullen; Grandchildren, Heather, Patrik and Hannah Mullen; Stepson Travis Stockwell; Grandchildren Skyler, Eva, and Ezra Stockwell; Brothers Roy W (Rusty) Jr (Gail) Miller, Blaise Miller and; Sister Julie (Leroy) DentLinger; Nephew Kevin(Jan) Miller, and David DentLinger; Nieces Denise(Dallas) Barnes, Jennifer and Jayme Miller.

Her parents and husbands are deceased. Services will be at Journey Christian Church, Saturday June 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM 4759 W. 31 Street, Greeley, Colorado with a reception to follow at Evans VFW Post 6624 3501 State Street, Evans, Colorado
