Robert (Hod) Soto
June 27th, 1965 - May 22nd, 2025
Hod Soto, 59, of Greeley passed away Thursday May 22, 2025 after a year long battle with liver cancer and liver disease.
Hod was born on June 27, 1965 in Greeley to Ray and Helen (Olivas) Soto. He attended University Lab School and graduated in 1983. In 2023 he was awarded as the Distinguished Alumni representing the class of 1983. While in high school Hod excelled at all sports, but mainly football and baseball, he attended UNC and played football there for a year as well. After his education he decided to stay active in sports by coaching in many different schools. He returned to his Alma Mater, University Lab School and was the head coach for football. His final coaching job was for the NoCo Nightmare semi pro football team.
When Hod wasn’t coaching football, he enjoyed fishing with friends and family. Hod had a 35-year career with the City of Greeley Parks Department. His last assignment was a utilities locator. He took the utmost pride in his work, and he definitely made a difference. Hod retired in January 2025 due to his illness.
Hod met the love of his life, Tracy, in 2014. They started their life together along with his mother in 2018. Hod and Tracy enjoyed many fun adventures, including fishing and trips to Laughlin.
Hod is preceded in death by his grandparents (Alfredo & Magdelena Olivas) (Urbano & Cleotide Soto), parents (Ray & Helen Soto), his brother Urban, numerous aunt and uncles and cousins.
Hod is survived by his wife, Tracy, stepson Alex (Brooke) Eckhardt, his granddaughter Mae, and grandson Wells. His Auntie Annie Montoya, his Auntie Ruby Andrade, Auntie Pauline Soto, his sisters Madeline (John) McNeill, Annette (Bob) Petrie, Phyllis (Mike) Sheetz, and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
