James "Jim" David Anderson
November 11th, 1947 - May 19th, 2025
On the 17th of May 2025 James David Anderson, Jr., known as Jim to his family and friends, passed away at the age of 77 at Pathways Hospice near his home in Loveland, Colorado. Jim is survived by his wife, Teresa Anderson, his sister, Jennifer Wilde, his daughter, Michelle Anderson, his three sons: Christopher Anderson, Sean (Laura) Anderson, and Nathan Anderson, his stepson, Brian (Lhysa) Stewart, and his two granddaughters, Cassie Anderson and Diane Lacanilao. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth Anderson.
Jim was born on the 11th of November, 1947 to James and Ruth Anderson on the island of Honolulu, Hawaii. As part of a military family Jim spent his youth in Hawaii, Japan, and Alaska before settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Jim himself served for 12 years as part of the U.S. Army including three tours of duty in Vietnam. During his enlistment he met Flora Louise Russell and they were married and had two children, Michelle and Christopher. Jim and Flo later separated.
In 1982 Jim was remarried to Teresa Sullins Stewart, with whom he would spend the rest of his life, having two children together, Sean and Nathan. They were married in Casper, Wyoming where they lived for several years before returning to Colorado.
Jim was a man of many professions from working in drapery with his father, to security, facility maintenance, as well as being a stay at home father and earning a degree in Electronics Technology. On top of all that he was also an enthusiastic Cub Scout troop leader and softball umpire, remaining an umpire until he retired.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Jim was an active member of the Loveland Church of Christ and served there for many years. His love was their World Bible School program. He provided bibles to and taught thousands of students all over the world via the World Bible correspondence courses.
Jim loved collecting Star Wars memorabilia and proudly displayed them on the walls around his desk until they covered the entire wall. He enjoyed reading and could often been seen with his nose in a western or action-adventure paperback novel with a brownie snack sitting on his desk ready to be enjoyed.
A memorial service will be held on June 17, 2pm, at Cheyenne National Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
