Marcia Ann Baudhuin

    Marcia Baudhuin forged her own path in the world, following her inner compass rather than the road most traveled.  She was an avid card and game player, who loved to win, but remained a good sport. She made friends everywhere she went. When she moved into her assisted living facilities she emerged as a social butterfly and often could not take a call because she was busy at bingo or another activity, known for regaling her fellow residents with stories of her life.    Marcia was an advocate for those who are often overlooked or marginalized, working to support many people overcoming addiction, or living with mental health issues, or intellectual and physical disabilities, in both her work as a caregiver and her charitable pursuits. She was a person of faith, choosing a home in the Catholic Church later in her life.    Marcia Ann Baudhuin, 78, of Brookfield Wi passed away peacefully Fruitland Idaho on April 6th, 2025   She made her way home with the same determination she applied to anything she felt inspired to do.    Though her body was not cooperating with her any more, she applied her strong will and paved her way “large and in charge” to the end.    She was surrounded by family and friends who had preceded her, as well family, friends and loving, supportive caregivers at her last home, Edgewood Spring Creek, as she made her transition.   She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1946 to Gretchen and Ernest Baudhuin.   Marcia was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend and caregiver throughout her life. She experienced her share of struggles and sorrows, yet kept “suiting up and showing up” whatever came her way.   She was proud of her daughter Lisa, acknowledging all that Lisa overcame to create the life, family and livelihood she wanted, equally determined to overcome any challenges she faced.    She was grateful to have her daughter's support throughout her life, and for having Lisa's invaluable help in navigating the illnesses and other challenges she faced in her later years.   She loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, enjoying family meals and holiday celebrations as had been important to her all her life.    She was one of the Green Bay Packers biggest fans, carrying on a family tradition. She enjoyed going to movies, to live performances, and adventuring across the country whenever the spirit moved her, at times accompanied by her beloved cats Little Bit and Oreo as companions.   She gratefully celebrated her 'second' birthday in August each year, counting 40 years of sobriety as one of her greatest accomplishments. She spoke regularly of “...trudging the Road of Happy Destiny” as noted in Chapter 11 of the AA Big Book. The words that so inspired her, reflect the story of her personal transformation well.   Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.   And now, all who loved her remain ever with her, in the Fellowship of the Spirit, until we meet again.   She will always be remembered for her compassion towards others and her love of the Green Bay Packers. We will forever remember one of her favorite phrases......... “That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!” as she was fond of saying.   Marcia is preceded in death by Gretchen and Ernest Baudhuin. She is survived by her daughter and grandchildren, her twin brother Paul, brother David, sisters Sandy, Lynne and Elizabeth.   Memorial service held Sunday June 1st, 2pm, Shaffer-Jensen, Payette ID
