Sandra “Sandy” Tanner SmithWife. Mama. Nana. Cat Lady June 5, 1964 – May 27, 2025
Sandra “Sandy” Tanner Smith, age 60, passed away with her family by her side and a heart full of love. She was the kind of person who could light up a room with her laugh, offer a hug that melted all your worries, and somehow make even the wildest YouTube theory sound completely legit.
Sandy met her beloved husband, Greg, while working as electricians (because nothing says romance like hard hats and high voltage). Their marriage was full of lively debates, shared laughter, and a deep, enduring bond that lasted through the ups and downs of life. Though they bickered often, their love and loyalty to each other never wavered, and their partnership stood the test of time.
Though she loved that job, her proudest career came after the birth of her youngest daughter, Tori, when she became a stay-at-home mom — a job she truly adored.
She was the proud Mama to Brandon Hill, Tiffany Smith (Brandon Smith), and Tori Britt (Kyle Britt), and the adoring Nana to seven grandbabies: Landon, Skylar, Nevaeh, Justin, Bella, Asher, and Shepherd. Each one held a special place in her heart (and had their own secret stash of snacks at Nana’s house).
Sandy’s partner-in-crime for over 50 years was her best friend, Vickie Nash — the other half of a duo known for laughter, loyalty, and a knack for finding trouble in their younger years. From childhood shenanigans to adult heart-to-hearts, they were truly two peas in a pod.
She also leaves behind her loving siblings: her brother, Marty Smith, and sisters Gina Hughes, Debbie Lashley, and Diane Bridges. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Nancy Tanner, her brother Wesley Tanner, and her sister Sherry Morrone — all of whom she now rejoins in eternal peace (and probably some good family laughs).
Sandy had a deep love for her kitty cats, Little Bit, Buddy, Mama Kitty, the neighborhood stray, Choco, a fascination with fun facts about Bigfoot sightings, monkeys, and funny cat videos. Her favorite pastime was getting lost in videos or catching up with the latest drama on Bravo TV.
What we’ll miss most is her spirit: joyful, genuine, and filled with a fierce kind of love. Her laugh could heal a bad day. Her hugs could fix the world. Her legacy is one of love, loyalty, and laughter.
We love you, Mama. We hope Jesus confirms your theory that BigFoot was real. Love You Forever!
