Cheryl Sue Ickes Allen Weinke
October 21st, 1947 - April 30th, 2025
Born on October 21, 1947, to Henry Edward & Charlean Adams Waltrip Ickes of Centralia, WA.
Died peacefully by her wishes in her home on April 30, 2025, in Chehalis, WA to a long battle w/lung cancer.
Graduate of Centralia High 1965, she was blessed with many lifelong childhood friends who were by her side. She stayed in close contact, knowing every person, knew where they were in life and when they passed, keeping the class of ’65 and others in the know.
She worked at Bank Check supply, the skating rink snack bar, Yard Birds, Sunbirds and retired from Providence Hospital.
She loved traveling to wineries with friends, trips to the beach clam digging with family, day trips anywhere, Nashville to see Elvis (her first love), friends at The Limit, bingo, karaoke and summer parties at King Rancho Farm hosted by Jason King. Shopping downtown with Arin & Amanda going to antique stores giggling because the floors squeaked. She would often tell her stories of her childhood. She collected anything Elvis & Owls.
When she retired, she didn’t slow down spending time with friends as much as she could, she would throw an occasional gathering with family but truly her friends came first but the love of family was strong.
She was a secret fighter, needing the comfort of her friends and family yet not letting us know to what extent. She battled cancer twice, living her last 5 years as bonus year as the last treatment was only to last a year. She was always on the go, even trying to in her last few days
She married Lawrence M Allen and had 3 children, Teresa, Deanna & Danny.
She remarried Ron Weinke and enjoyed many trips hunting and the outdoors and her extended family Amanda & Brian {Vickers) from Alaska.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Ron Weinke, Lawrence Allen, both parents Henry & Charlean Ickes, Uncle Will & Aunt Ura Allen, both brothers Gary & Homer (Kathlene) Waltrip.
Survived by her children Teresa (Darryl) Linwood, Deanna (Drew) Johnson, Daniel (Ashley) Allen. Her grandchildren Josh (Kelcie) Westley, Arin Engle, Amanda Linwood, Ariel (Zack)Grisham, Saige Johnson (Conner) , Kaylee Johnson (Zack Larson), Chance Allen. Great Grandchildren Brooklyn & Jack Grisham, Addy, Brently Arthurs, Noah Westley & June Engle. Niece and nephews Mary Kay (Rob) Armstrong, Randy, Brian and Kelly Waltrip. Great Nephew Luke Waltrip.
A special thank you for your care of mom in her final months to Janine Grant.
Celebration of Life and Potluck will be held at The American Legion 111 W Main St Centralia on Friday June 6, 2025, from 5:00-9:00pm.
