Morris Emmett Webster, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather

Morris Emmett Webster, Mo to his friends and family, longtime Tacoma resident, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, surrounded by love and memory.

Born July 11, 1951 - Mo was an interesting and one-of-a-kind man—lanky but scrappy, sharp-witted, and fiercely independent. Though he faced a challenging upbringing, he carried himself with resilience, pragmatism, and a deeply rooted sense of reasoning. He was a man who could be cantankerous and hard to read at times, but those who truly knew him understood the quiet compassion behind his often blunt exterior.

He had a deep love for mysteries and true crime, and rarely passed up a John Wayne film or classic western. He loved the thrill of a good Keno game and had a sharp, curious mind.

Mo was a respected businessman, proudly running S & W Steam Exhaust Cleaning for over 40 years. He was also known for his collections of comic books and quirky treasures—and even more so for the legendary backyard BBQs he hosted while raising his children, where the entire neighborhood would gather. As hard of a man as he could be - the house has always been a gathering place for friends and family.

Tacoma—and Washington as a whole—was always his true home, no matter where life took him. He may have been misunderstood by some, but those closest to him knew: Mo was a thinking, deeply intelligent man who lived life on his own terms, with grit, pride, and the quiet kind of love that shows up in practical ways.

Mo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy Webster (née Wilbur), his parents, Gladys and Robert Webster, his dear sister Christine, his son in law Donald, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, whose spirits remain close to the hearts of those who survive him.

He is survived by his loving sister Ellen of Tacoma, WA; and his four children: Markus Webster and Kimberlie Webster, both of Tacoma, WA. Bonnie Lucas of Port Angeles, WA; and Shawna Turner of Norfolk, VA; He leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry a piece of his spirit forward.

A celebration of his life will be held on May 25, 2025 at his home at 2122 South Cushman Ave., Tacoma, WA. In honor of Morris, the family invites you to share a story, a memory, or simply raise a glass in his name.
