Chuck joined the US Navy at age 17 and served three years. After working at odd jobs forseveral years, he landed on the art of butchery. He honed his meat-cutting skills and openedseveral of his own businesses (Country Squire Meats, Lacey, WA, Western Meats, Tumwater,WA, and Old World Sausage Company, Lacey, WA). He valued hard work and stayed in thattrade until his retirement from the QFC store in Port Orchard, WA, at age 65 in 2007. After a lifespent mainly as a bachelor and living alone, Chuck suffered a severe heart attack in 2020,which required him to move near family. In the last 5 years of his life, he reconnected with lovedones, supported Jill as a friend, found a new love of life, and became a softer version of himself. We are grateful for this time with him and know he had a new peace and positivity about himthat was not always present in his life.

Chuck was known for his love of sports, especially college basketball (Duke University) and NFLfootball (Seattle Seahawks). Bar-B-Qs, country music, casino games, and lottery tickets were agreat source of joy for him. He often dreamed of “winning the big one.” He was happiest whenfishing, with his favorite spot being at Offut Lake in Tenino, WA.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being madethrough Funeral Alternatives in Lacey, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations besent to the American Cancer Society. May peace be with him always.
