Robert Grady Jeffery
July 24th, 1962 - May 24th, 2025
Robert “Grady” Jeffery, 62, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, May 24, 2025, after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer.
Born on July 24, 1962, in Lexington, SC, Grady was the beloved son of the late Charles and Sybil Jeffery. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Krystal White.
Grady is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Sally Beckett-Jeffery; his children, Lily Jeffery (21) and Robert “Bryce” Jeffery (18); his brothers Tommy (Vanessa) Jeffery, Steve (Cathy) Jeffery, and James (Grace) Jeffery; and his sister Lori (Tim) White. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
A man of deep faith, abundant warmth, and boundless generosity, Grady brought joy wherever he went. He had a rare gift for connection, never meeting a stranger and always offering a smile, a story, or a helping hand. He was the heart of every gathering and a loyal, steadfast friend.
Above all, Grady was a devoted family man. He embraced life with passion, whether fishing, racing RC cars, riding dirt bikes, or striking up conversations with anyone in his path. A close friend once said Grady’s exuberant personality could take him around the world with just five dollars—and few would argue.
Grady’s entrepreneurial spirit began early with a $25 car detailing business in his parents’ garage. That same drive and creativity led him to establish several successful ventures, most recently Jeffery Builders, a custom home-building business he poured his heart into. He took great pride in helping families bring their dream homes to life and treasured the friendships built along the way.
Grady was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Church and lived each day rooted in love, service, and gratitude.
The Jeffery family extends heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary team of nurses on 4 East at MUSC Ashley River Tower. For five months, they expertly cared for Grady and his family with love, compassion, and unwavering support. They are, in every sense, angels on Earth. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Lamb Institute, a ministry in Honduras serving children who have experienced abuse and neglect—a cause close to Grady’s heart.
A celebration of Grady’s life will be held in late July, near what would have been his 63rd birthday. The family will share further details on Facebook in the coming weeks.
