Garrison Mayberry Jr. August 14, 1948 – May 22, 2025
Garrison Mayberry Jr. passed on May 22, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. He was 76 years old.
Born in Roswell, New Mexico, on August 14, 1948, Garrison served in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he settled in Tucson, Arizona, where he began raising a family. The family later moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he lived for many years. He worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator — steady and practical trades that suited him well — and during his time in Washington, he spent periods working overseas in places such as Kuwait, the Philippines, and the Marshall Islands. In his retirement years, he spent his winters in Tucson.
He is survived by his three children: West Timothy Mayberry, Garrison Mayberry III, and Virginia Mayberry; three grandchildren; his siblings: Virgil Mayberry, Leon Mayberry, Julia Kaye Trebus, Beverly McQueen, and Susan Sickles; and his former wife, Charlotte Mayberry.
In keeping with his wishes, Garrison will be laid to rest at Fort Vancouver National Cemetery, a place near his home and his children, where he can be remembered and visited often. No public service is currently planned.
His family and others who knew him will remember him with quiet appreciation and enduring respect.
