James ""JW"" Warren Green
October 17th, 1952 - May 28th, 2025
James Warren Green, lovingly known as "JW," peacefully passed away in Lancaster, South Carolina, on May 28, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on October 17, 1952, in Kershaw County, JW leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, family love and a spirited sense of humor.
JW spent his formative years in Kershaw County, where he developed a deep bond with his siblings, sharing countless laughs and adventures. JW had an innate ability to bring joy to those around him, often seen cracking jokes with his brothers and sisters, fostering camaraderie and warmth within his family. As a child growing up in a close-knit community, JW discovered a profound love for the outdoors, particularly hunting—a passion that stayed with him throughout his life.
On a cold chilly winter day 41 years ago, JW married the love of his life, Rebecca, affectionately known as Becky. Over the years, their marriage became a pillar of strength and love, a true partnership that influenced all who knew them. Together, they raised their son Thomas, instilling in him the values of hard work, humor and unwavering family devotion. JW delighted in teaching Thomas about cars, as he himself had a keen interest in automotive mechanics, and cherished the times spent working side by side.
JW's days were filled with hunting expeditions and quality time with family. His love for nature and cars created opportunities for him to bond with those he held dear. Whether he was tracking deer in the woods or tinkering under the hood of a car, JW's enthusiasm and zest for life were infectious.
JW is survived by his beloved wife Becky and their son Thomas. Surviving siblings are Kathy Knight (Terry), Edna “Lynn” Roberts (Grady), Grover Green (Cathy) all from Kershaw, Mike Green (Sabine) from Lancaster, and Mary “Ellen” Fredrickson (Craig) from Texas. JW is preceded in death by parents Thomas Andrew Green (Father), Edna Beatrice Faulkenberry Green (Mother), and siblings Jack Green, Paul Thomas Green, Ernest Edward Green, Danny Green, Douglas Green, Jeannie Frances Green. As the family navigates this profound loss, they find solace in knowing JW is at peace and is fondly remembered for his unwavering love and ever-present humor.
The family invites friends and relatives to visit at their home, providing an opportunity to share memories and commemorate JW's life. A celebration of JW's life, where stories and laughter will be shared among family and friends, is planned for a later date, allowing all who loved him to join in honoring a life fully lived.
In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with JW’s spirit of generosity, the family encourages contributions to Charlotte Regional Fire Foundation, donation can be made at https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=TZEJ3BWRZCFFJ keeping JW’s legacy of kindness and empathy alive.
In remembrance of a life filled with love, laughter and warmth, JW will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. His spirit lives on in every joke, every car engine that roars to life, and in the quiet rustle of leaves on a hunting trail, eternally reminding us of the footprints he left in our lives
