Larry John Robinson

In Loving Memory
Larry Robinson passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was 78.
Born in Richmond, California, Larry grew up in King City, where he spent his childhood running wild with his dog Inky and keeping watch and protecting with his trusty pellet gun. He graduated from King City High School and brought his strong work ethic into every chapter of life.
At just 18, Larry began working at Safeway, where he spent the next 37 years. From bagging groceries to managing departments, he did it all—and did it well. Safeway became his second home, and he made lasting friendships and memories with coworkers and customers alike.
Larry proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.
He loved fishing, often saying he was great at fishing but not so great at catching. He enjoyed camping, boating, gardening, bowling, and fixing just about anything. He was a natural with animals and always had pets, had a great sense of humor, and was always up for a joke or a new computer gadget. One of his favorite past times was sending jokes via email to anyone he had an email address for. He would do anything for his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter Mindy and granddaughter Cady of Salinas, California; daughters Dawn and Tina of Arkansas; grandchildren Seth, Cody, Larken, and Haven; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Lavon of Kansas, brother Lester, and sister Lora, both of Idaho, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on June 13, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m., and interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery on Abbott Street in Salinas. A reception will follow; more details will be shared at the service.
Larry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

We Entrusted Larry Robinson's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
