William "Bill" Rodney Mooney

William (Bill) Rodney Mooney, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Bill was born May 19, 1941 in Columbus, OH to the late Paul and Emily Mooney. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and his MBA from Xavier University.
Bill married Renee Jameson of Columbus in 1970 and they spent 42 happy years together until she passed away in 2013.He spent his early career as an educator and eventually transitioned into banking. Before his retirement he owned and operated a motorcycle dealership in Roswell, GA, a suburb of Atlanta where he and Renee resided for almost 10 years.
Bill was an avid sailor and pilot and golfer who loved travel and adventure. He was known for his charm and sense of humor and loved to entertain his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his daughters Michelle Brown (Rich) and Nicole Copeland (Tony) both of Charlotte, NC as well as his six grandchildren Ben, Emily, Sam, Hunter, Collin and Michael.
He is also survived by Saundra Duncan of Asheville, NC, a beloved partner with whom he spent the last years of his life traveling, hiking and picnicking. Her companionship brought tremendous joy and love to his life.
