Truman - better known as Greg Fallon, the second child of seven, born in 1936 to Edward and Genevieve Fallon. Greg was born at home on the farm. Farming was the family business and their way of life. After a couple of years working for the Herman Lacey Farm, located just a mile south of Burdette. The family moved into Rockham in 1940, before settling on the Jim Finerty Farm in Hand County in 1942. Greg was the right hand for his Dad, Ed Fallon and learned the hard work farming required. During Greg's teen years, he worked for a couple of area farms to earn a little school money. As for school, Greg attended first through eighth grades at St. Mary's Catholic Boarding School in Zell, South Dakota, just ten miles from the farm. The family tradition was to board at the catholic school Monday's through Friday's. After grade school, Greg entered high school in a Catholic School in Richardson, North Dakota for the first half of his freshman year and finished his freshman year in Polo, South Dakota. He started his sophomore year at Polo, but transferred to Notre Dame in Mitchell, South Dakota staying with relatives - The Joyce Family. After the first half of his junior year in Mitchell, he then transferred to Polo, South Dakota to finish his junior year. During his senior year in high school, he attended Redfield High School, boarding with family friends during the school year. While in High School, Greg was an outstanding athlete in Track and Football, but he was also a good Baseball player and played for the Redfield town team. After High School, Greg joined the Army National Guard in the Redfield Unit and went to Boot Camp at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. In 1957, Greg joined the Active US Army, transferring from the National Guard into active duty. Greg attended training in radio communications in Fort Benning, Georgia and graduated from Parachute training in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Greg was assigned to Fort Bragg North Carolina to the 82nd Airborne Division. From Fort Bragg, Greg had assignments to Germany, back to Fort Bragg. He transferred into the Green Beret unit at Fort Bragg and went to Vietnam and then returned to Fort Bragg. His next assignment was to Okinawa, Japan where he was stationed at the same time with his younger brother, Mike Fallon. Greg returned to Fort Bragg for a short time, before going back to Germany. He next went to Fort Lewis, Washington and then went to Korea in 1982, for a year tour, before returning to Fort Lewis, Washington until he retired. Greg's ranks went from Private E1 to his retirement as a First Sergeant, E8. Greg retired from the US Army in 1983. After his retirement, Greg coached College Woman's Fast Pitch Softball, umpired for College Basketball and played for a semi-pro Fast Pitch Softball Team making it all the way to the National's a few years in a row.

As for Greg's family life, Greg married Vanessa in 1982, in Olympia, Washington. They were a great, loving couple and enjoyed many years together, spending winters in Arizona and summers near Vanessa's family in the Olympia area. Greg and Vanessa were a wonderful dancing couple on any dance floor. They loved dancing together and it showed whenever the two of them were on the dance floor. Greg and Vanessa were married for 43 happy years, until her passing in January of 2024.

Greg was a beloved husband, step-father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend and Veteran. He adored his family in South Dakota and his family in Olympia, Washington and it showed through his many hours of spending time coaching, babysitting and just being there for all whoever needed him. He especially adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Greg would spend many years taking his grandson, Zachary to Fort Lewis to get their haircut and it was always a meaningful experience for Zach, especially since he knew grandpa would stop at the toy store on the way home. He also spent many years coaching his granddaughter, Angela in fast pitch and was also a coach at Tumwater High School for the girls fast pitch team. Greg was also known as a great golfer.
