Jose A Paredes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Antonio Paredes, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud Cuban-American, who departed this life on May 29th, 2025 at the age of 83.

Born in Havana Cuba, Jose, embodied the strength, resilience, and spirit of those who leave everything behind in search of a better life. For four long years, he was separated from his beloved wife, and  children, unable to leave his homeland. Yet he never lost hope. Reunited at last, he built a beautiful life in a new country, learning English, working tirelessly, and achieving more than anyone could have imagined—all while remaining steadfast in his love for his family.  He was self emmployed for 60 years as a photographer, videographer, DJ and electronic repairman. 

Jose was married to the love of his life, Silvia, for 61 incredible years. Their enduring bond was a testament to loyalty, partnership, and deep affection. Together, they raised a family rooted in love, laughter, and tradition.

A passionate music lover, Jose always had a melody in his heart. He found joy in the simple pleasures—casting a line while fishing, cheering on his favorite Tampa Bay Rays baseball team, playing dominoes and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dog Ginger who were the light of his life.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Paredes, mother, Ana Rosa Iglesias, and sister, Caridad Paredes Fernandez.  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Silvia, his children; Ana Herron, Sylvia "Pembi" Paredes, Antonio "Tony" Paredes, grandchildren; Liana Kaylor, Sarah Herron, Antonio Joseph "AJ" Paredes, and Katiana Paredes, his brother, Manolo Paredes and his dog, Ginger.  He will be greatly missed.
