Karen Lynne Groves

Karen Lynne Groves was born on February 15, 1964, in Charleston, South Carolina. Throughout her life, Karen worked in several places including Walmart and Charleston International Airport. However, it was about three years ago that she found her true calling at Joseph Pye Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria. Surrounded by a supportive and caring team, Karen often shared with her family how her coworkers uplifted her on difficult days. She loved her job deeply and continued working until she was no longer able. 

Karen is survived by her devoted mother, Barbara; her brother, Alan; and three sisters: Leslie, Faith, and Jo. She was a proud and loving aunt to her nephew Robert (Shakerrah), and nieces Crystal (Deon), Kimberly (Jermaine), Rebecca (Saul), Lorrie, and Andrea. 

Her legacy continues through her great-nephews Rashad, Terrance (Jaliyah), Richard, and Maurell, and her great-nieces Malaysia (Christian), Jazira, Asanti, and Aaliyah. She was also blessed to have a great-great-nephew, C.J. 

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Alan Sr.; her stepfather, Tom; both sets of grandparents; her brother-in-law, Billy; and her nephew, affectionately known as Boss. 

She also leaves behind her beloved fur baby, Chloe, who brought her endless comfort and joy. 

Karen will be remembered for her kindness, her strong work ethic, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
