Margaret Smith, 80, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on May 12, 2025, at her long-term care facility in Arvada. Born on May 28, 1944, in Denver, Margaret lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family.
Margaret worked as a librarian for the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center at Lowry Air Force Base, where she met the love of her life, Carl Smith. They were married for 23 years until his passing in 2000.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Benzing and Mark Benzing (Jill); stepson Barry Smith; stepdaughters Carmae Hiller (Forrest) and Carrie Smith AuBuchon; and her cherished granddaughter Shelby.
Margaret had a deep love for the outdoors, often enjoying walks along Clear Creek and spending time in the mountains. She was also an avid Denver Broncos fan, finding joy in watching their games and sharing those moments with her family.
A memorial service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton. In lieu of flowers, donation made in her name to Christ Community Covenant Church (4 C’s) in Arvada.
Margaret's legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
