                               OBITUARY FOR PATRICIA ANN CORNETT

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Cornett, who reunited with the Lord on May 19, 2025, at the age of 67.

Born on September 18, 1957, Patty was one of nine rambunctious children native to a small-town of Brewster, Washington. Patty was always known for her unwavering sense of humor, boisterous laugh, and for being a force of nature. She was a woman whose laughter could light up a room and whose humor could lift the heaviest of hearts. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cherished (often through a well-timed joke), a mischievous smile, or a story that would leave everyone in stitches.

Patty was a devoted mother, cherished friend, and a steady, nurturing presence in the lives of all who knew her. Her kindness, quiet strength, and love shaped our family and continues to guide us each day. We are heartbroken by her loss, but we take comfort in the memories we shared and the lessons she instilled in us—of love, humility, and perseverance.

She was the heartbeat of our family and a pillar of her community. Whether she was participating in community service activities, sending gifts or cards in support, or simply lending an ear to someone in need, Patty made everyone feel like family. Her warmth, wit, and generosity touched countless lives, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.

In 1977, Patty attended Wenatchee Valley College at the same time Mark was attending Yakima Valley Community College. During a conference for student body representatives held in Wenatchee, Patty met Mark for the first time. After about a year and a half of dating, Mark and Patty got married on August 11, 1979, and celebrated 45 years of marriage together. They raised two children, Paul and Katy. Patty described Paul as her “Mount St. Helen’s Baby” (born in 1981) and named Katy “Denise” (born in 1983) after her life-long childhood friend, Denise.

Throughout her life, Patty found joy in participating in community service activities. She and Mark were a part of the congregation of Peace Lutheran Church in Selah, Washington. Patty devoted much time and attention to playing piano for services, choir, children's programs and other events. She prepared the monthly church newsletter and coordinated the mailing of it. Patty was also a member of the Selah Jaycee Women’s community organization for many years.

After moving to Albuquerque in August 1999, Patty and Mark found their place with the congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Patty continued her involvement with the church through the Blind Outreach Program. In her later years, Patty found a joy for crocheting and would make scarfs, hats and Afghans for the mission and for everyone in the family, including matching scarf sets for her daughter Katy and grand-dog Selah.

Patty is survived by her husband, Mark, son Paul (Rachel), daughter Katy (Pablo), and three grandchildren, Brynn, Austin, and Juan Pablo. She is also survived by brother Jim Webster (Chuan-Chuan), sister Laura Lee Brownton (Mark (deceased)), brother Dan Webster (Kim), sister Fran Obermeyer (Mike), sister Gen Isensee (Mike), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin George Webster, her mother, Mary Elaine Webster (Schaller), and brothers Ron, Wynn (Chris Webster), and Kyle (Debra Webster).

A memorial service to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 300 Gold Avenue SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There will be a luncheon with food provided to follow. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories.

For those who cannot personally attend the memorial, the service will be streamed through Immanuel Lutheran Church ABQ’s Facebook link: https://facebook.com/ImmanuelABQ.

In lieu of flowers, Patty and the family request donations be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Evangelism Outreach program in her honor.
