Hampton F. Ott, Jr., age 93, of Charlotte passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025. He was born November 13,1931 in St. Matthews, SC to the late Hampie and Arlene Ott. He attended Clemson University and continued to be an avid football fan. He was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men, sang in the choir and served on various committees. Hampton enjoyed playing golf, Clemson football, eating BBQ, telling stories and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter Ann Gaston; son Russell Ott; granddaughter Savannah Shelton (Will); sister Betty Joe Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ott was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Gladys Starnes Ott, and granddaughter Bethany Gaston. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8 at 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
