Capt. Paul N. Delfeld Jr. passed away unexpectedly in his home in Prescott, Arizona due to heart complications on Monday, May 26, 2025.  He is survived by his wife Lauri (nee Heinrich), their children, Paul III, (Jennifer), Lauren Baar (Alan), Bradley (Shayla) and Megan. Grandchildren, Sloan (10), Rosemary (7), Declan (4), and Reagan (2).  He is preceded in death by his father Paul, Sr. and mother, Henrietta (nee Budke).

Paul was born April 2nd, 1959, in Dallas, Texas.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was a navigator on B-52 Bombers. After serving his country, Paul entered the corporate world working for Mobil Chemical, which took the family to New York, New Jersey, Texas, then ultimately to Illinois. In 2002 Paul made the decision to leave the corporate world to resume his hobby business full-time, Ram Air Restoration. This afforded him the ability to be fully submerged in his love for muscle car restoration and connect with others who likewise shared his affinity. He did what he loved, and loved what he did.

Paul was a proud Veteran with a thirst for living life.  He was an avid Grand Canyon backcountry adventurer who is probably on a short list of backpackers who have hiked hundreds of miles, covering all trails.  He was passionate about everything he did, seemingly becoming an expert in anything he came across.  After his family, muscle cars were his passion.  It would be hard to find someone else who knew more about them - this was always clear as he would point out minor distinguishing features that identified cars of certain years and could provide 10 minutes-worth of historical context of that particular feature.

Fully committed to his family and friends, Paul would go to great lengths to help those in need.  Whether it was a late-night issue with a car not starting, the need for wisdom and support, or help identifying what year the new neighbor's Pontiac GTO was, Paul was there.

A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11th from 9am to 1pm at Affordable Burial & Cremation Funeral Home in Chino Valley (2607 S. Hwy. 89), followed by a memorial at the Prescott National Cemetery (500 N. Hwy. 89) at 1:30pm.
